Long-lasting, year-round blooming makes this a very popular groundcover.

This hardy, easy to care for, long-lasting groundcover makes an excellent border for flowering shrubs. Most subtropical landscape plants grow much larger than the Ruellia Katie's one foot height. Ruellia Katie is most often seen in purple, but recently, pink and white varieties have been introduced.

Blooming is light related, so you'll notice more flowers when it's sunny. Over time, plant multiplies; an original stem becomes a colony. This is another characteristic that makes this plant particularly nice for groundcover.
