A spectacular tree in bloom
Jatropha, or Peregrina, is a beautiful flowering evergreen tree or shrub. It blooms most of the year with clusters of star-shaped bright scarlet flowers. It handles pruning well and can be kept to shrub size, trained to a tree form or used as a container specimen. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds as well.
Jatropha is easy-care. Though not salt-tolerant, it will thrive in most soil conditions, provided the soil is well drained.
