AVERAGE SIZE: Up to 40 feet tall; trunk up to 10" wide GROWTH RATE: Fast LEAF: Deep green on top and blue-green below pinnate fronds (shaped like a feather) range from 5 to 6 feet long. Leaflets up to 2 feet long. FLOWER: Both male and female flowers occur on the same inflorescence and are green to white in color. The fruit is ½" in diameter, bright red in color and should be avoided as it is an irritant. GROWING CONDITIONS WATER: Once established, requires frequent water. The Carpentaria Palm has been highly regarded in the nursery trade because of its attractive form and fast growth. Although it can be planted alone, it is best when planted in groups of 3 or more to create a "forest" setting.
